Undergraduate degree programmes in Geography and Environmental Science

The following degree programmes are offered within the School of Geography.

Single Honours degrees

BA Geography (L700 BA/GeoA) For those who wish to mix human and physical geography with a leaning towards human geography.

BSc Geography (F800 BSc/GeoS) For those wishing to combine physical and human geography with a leaning towards physical geography.

BA Human Geography (L720 BA/HumG)
 For applicants who wish to specialise in human geography and who may wish to combine their studies in human geography with arts and social science subjects.

BSc Environmental Geography (F810 BSc/EvGeo) A degree designed for those who wish to combine a geographical approach with a concern for current environmental issues.

BSc Environmental Science (F850 BSc/EvS) A multi-disciplinary degree reflecting the complexity of relationships within the natural environment and human interactions with it. After an introduction to environmental issues, physical geography, and environmental biology, the specialisms of the course range from ecology to hydrology and environmental change.

BSc Environmental Science with Business Management (F8N2) This degree programme is designed for those of you who wish to combine your interest in environmental science with a more vocationally-orientated programme in business management.

BA Global Change: Environment, Economy and Development (FL71) (no undergraduate entry for 2013) This degree provides a thematic focus on a range of topical and important global issues.

BSc (Econ) Geography (L721 BScEcon/GS) For students wishing to study single honours geography in combination with economics in a ratio of about three parts geography to one part economics under the modular system.

BSc Geography with Business Management (FVN1/GB) This degree programme is designed for those of you who wish to combine your interest in geography with a more vocationally-orientated programme in business management.

BA Cities, Economies and Social Change (LL31 BA/CESC) (no undergraduate entry for 2013) This degree focuses on those aspects of geography concerned with economic development, business and the city.

Joint Honours degrees

BSc (Econ) Geography and Economics (LL71 BScEcon/GE) A degree designed for those who wish to study geography and economics in equal proportions.

BA Geography and Politics (LL72 GAA/Geo/Pol) A degree designed for those who wish to extend their knowledge of political theory and practice and of the geographical bases of politics. The programme combines geography and politics in roughly equal proportions.
