Why QMUL Geography?

As Director of Graduate Studies, my main ambition is to promote a supportive and engaging environment for our postgraduate research students. I know that ambition is shared by all of my colleagues in the School
Dr Tim Brown, Director of Graduate Studies - Human Geography

Our research students work under the close supervision of members of academic staff who are experts in their fields. You will meet regularly with your supervisory team throughout your PhD.

Your supervisors support you in the development of your thesis and in managing your progress through to completion (94% of our PGR students complete on time). Supervisors will also guide you in your professional development.

The School’s research excellence and commitment to its postgraduate studies is reflected in the large number of RCUK funded students that make up our PGR community. These include AHRC, ESRC and NERC studentships.

We are part of the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP), the London NERC Doctoral Training Partnership and are associate members of the London Arts and Humanities Partnership.
