Filipendula ulmaria (Meadow Sweet)

Although characteristic of damp soils, Filipendula ulmaria is absent from more acid peat, and has been known to become dominant in oak-hazel woods, as on calcareous boulder clay in Cambridgeshire (Tansley, 1939). The grassland F. vulgaris is a plant of calcareous soils.
