Dear Students,

This week we're introducing to you our Teaching & Learning team: Catherine, Emma and Sam. They will be on hand, along with other colleagues, to help you and support you during your first weeks at university.

As a reminder, Welcome Week runs from 17-21 September 2018. The timetable will be sent to you closer to time, after results day.
Meet the Teaching & Learning team
Catherine Mills is our Student Experience Administrator and has been working at QMUL since 2017. She is responsible for undergraduate student experience and support, as well as admissions. She will be your first point of contact for any student support queries during Welcome Week, as well as module registration, coursework deadlines and exams. Catherine also represents the student voice through Student-Staff Liaison Committees and School meetings to maximise student engagement and success.
Emma Shapcott is the Teaching and Learning Manager in the School and has been with us since 2011. Emma is responsible for all undergraduate teaching and learning matters and deals with timetabling, exams, assessments, and programme administration.
Sam Atkinson has recently joined the School and is our Administrative Officer. She is responsible for the School’s QMplus system, and is the primary contact for queries with your QMplus account. She also handles coursework, reading lists, registers, some exam processing, the Head of School’s diary, general queries and looks after reception.
Student support services at Queen Mary

There is a wide range of advice and support available to all students at Queen Mary to help everyone get the most out of their time and achieve their full potential - not just in the School of Geography, but across the wider university. From financial advice to health services, the Students’ Union to language support, there are teams on hand to advise and support you throughout your degree.
 Hear from our students
What's it like to live on campus and settle into university life? Over a game of table tennis, geographers Aqeeb and Mo discuss life on campus and how to make the most of your time at uni:

Next, you'll be hearing from the Geography Society in August. Until then, enjoy the summer and good luck on results day!

With best wishes,
