Postgraduate students at City Water debate
3 March 2016
This year the Annual City Water Debate, organised by the WET 10 group of livery companies, discussed whether London is capable of surviving a drought and was delivered by two key speakers Mr Martin Baggs (CEO Thames Water) and Mr Mike Woolgar (Water Division Market Director Atkins Ltd). The event gathered members from various sectors of the water industry and in particular livery members of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators, Plumbers and Launderers and of course the WET 10 community. The event provided an excellent forum for networking and allowed for students and industry members to chat/exchange during the reception.
The Worshipful Company of Water Conservators provides bursaries for Integrated Management of Freshwater Environments (IMFE) MSc students. Two of our current students attended the event on Monday 22nd Feb, Grant Tregonning and Layla Al-Mousili. Grant, the current bursary holder, said “It is an absolute privilege to be sponsored by such a fantastic company. The bursary was essential for me to continue studying at postgraduate level; without such support I would simply not be able to afford the various expenses associated with studying a Master's degree”.
