The School of Geography at Queen Mary University of London is top in the capital for geography and environmental studies according to the latest Guardian University League Table 2015.
Published at the start of June, the guide shows how QMUL’s School of Geography has climbed eight places nationally to become the highest ranked university in the city for these subjects.
Head of School Professor Miles Ogborn said the score was testament to the ongoing investment and development that is underway in the department. “The School of Geography at Queen Mary already has a strong position in the UK for the quality of our teaching, student experience and research. We’ve been determined to keep building on this and keep investing in our students’ experience,” he said.
He added that the School was proud to see its hard work recognised in such an important table as the Guardian Guide. “We’ve expanded our range of fieldwork to take in destinations as diverse as Boston, USA and Mumbai, India as well as New Zealand too. Our laboratories have also benefitted from ongoing investment and this, coupled with a commitment to always improving the overall student experience, seems to have really helped cement our position.”
