Based in the creative and culturally diverse area of east London, we are based in Queen Mary’s friendly, self-contained Mile End campus – one of the largest in the capital. The 2012 Olympics changed our local area forever - as a student with us, you will be placed at the heart of this ongoing development, which provides the perfect backdrop for your studies. The Mile End campus is home to most academic schools (including the School of Geography), the central administration, Students’ Union and the main library.
The Mile End campus is also home to the Student Village. Opened in 2004, the village contains accommodation for over 2,000 students and a variety of other facilities. Its landscaping and architecture have won a number of awards. The Student Village offers safe and secure accommodation on the banks of the Regent’s canal just five minutes from the City of London and 15 minutes from the West End’s night life and employment opportunities.
The Mile End campus offers excellent facilities, including the brand new state-of-the-art Health and Fitness Centre, Qmotion. The a thriving Students’ Union has a wide range of societies you can join, ranging from Art and Photography to our active Geography Society who organise regular social and charity events.
Queen Mary is also part of the University of London (UoL) and as a member of the university you can use all their facilities, including the library at Senate House. You can join the UoL’s sports teams, orchestras and drama groups, stand for a position in its Students’ Union or write on its student newspapers.
