The Masters Dissertation
Masters students undertake a dissertation to provide and enhance critical thinking and independent research skills. Students identify dissertation topics in semester A, have close supervision, develop the building blocks of the dissertation (e.g. lit review, proposal) in training modules and have an opportunity to share their ideas with and get valuable feedback from other teaching staff and peers at Dissertation Conference Day.
The precise nature, length and content of individual dissertations varies according to which degree you register for .
MODE A 120 credits; 30,000 words
MODE B 90 credits; 22,500 words
MODE C 60 credits; 15,000 words
Some examples of the kind of work our Masters students have produced in recent years can be found in the Dissertation Archive.
