Term Dates and Module Timetable
The School’s Masters programmes begin in September of each year. As a full-time student you will complete your dissertation about 11 months later, for graduation in the autumn of that year. For part-time students the programme lasts two years, with the submission of the dissertation 23 months after initial enrolment and graduation in the autumn of that year.
Semester dates are set centrally by College. Within the School of Geography our Graduate School tries to organise its teaching timetable to meet the needs of both FT and PT students, for example by ring fencing teaching slots, with weekly teaching scheduled between Tuesdays and Thursdays inclusive. Masters teaching is also scheduled according to the same timetable each year so that students can further plan their time effectively. School research seminars are held weekly during term-time on Tuesdays at 12.15–1.15. Research frameworks are usually scheduled for on Thursdays at 16.15–18.00.
